Bimota YB11 v Kawasaki ZX9R v Yamaha R1 on the dyno

SAE corrected horsepower (5k)

This first chart shows the SAE corrected horsepower of the 3 bikes.

Bimota YB11 in Red, ZX9R in green and R1 in blue.

The day we ran the Bimota on the dyno it was quite hot and thus it has been given a better showing here with the SAE corrected factors rather than the actual horsepower shown on the next chart. This charts begins at 3000 rpm.

You can clearly see the top end stagger I mentioned in the review.   This was only really experienced on the dyno, it only showed up Actual Power (4k)on the road as what I would describe as a tame top end.  But then nothing this side of a Hayabusa feels as powerful up top as a ZX9R with the ram-air is working.  This has been proven time and time again by the ZX9R showing higher top speeds than the more powerful (on the static dyno) R1.   This is the actual chart and it commences from 5000 rpm.

The Bimota does feel strong at the bottom and this showed up on the last dyno chart, Torque (5k)especially the good torque it has up to 6000 rpm.
