2015 GSX-R1000 ABS Revealed in Europe
Overnight Suzuki unveiled an ABS version of their GSX-R flagship, the 2015 Suzuki GSX-R1000 L5 ABS.
The 2015 non ABS GSX-R1000L5 will be available in Australia early November and Suzuki Australia will closely monitor the market for the need of an ABS model.
Featuring class-mastering performance, cutting-edge technology, design and engineering, the sixth generation GSX-R1000 is the ultimate fusion of performance and design, delivering unparalleled mid-range power and acceleration.
Suzuki’s flagship sportsbike, the GSX-R1000 is an unsurpassed package, powered by a 999cc, in-line, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine delivering 136kW of power and featuring Suzuki’s Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel-injection system and a phenomenal power-to-weight ratio.
The 2015 GSX-R1000 features a 4-2-1 exhaust system which carries a Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) valve maximising torque and throttle response, especially in the low-to-mid rpm range.
Race-proven back-torque-limiting clutch contributes to smoother downshifting and corner entry.
Big Piston Front Forks (BPF) with an endurance-race-proven design deliver superb feedback and responsive, stable operation, and are lightweight.
The front disc brakes are equipped with the top-of-the -line radial-mount Brembo monoblock calipers.
A lightweight and compact twin-spar frame is made of five cast sections. It is mated with an arched swingarm made of three castings and one-piece die-cast rear subframe.
The compact engine enables short wheelbase and long swingarm at the same time to enhance cornering performance.
Electronically controlled steering damper provides lighter steering at slower speeds and more damping force at racetrack and highway speeds.
Completing an impressive package, the GSX-R1000 instrument cluster includes a lap time counter, adjustable shift light and gear position indicator, as well as speedometer, odometer, dual trip meters and LED indicators.
The GSX-R1000’s striking good looks are highlighted by pin stripes on the wheels and updated GSX-R graphics adorning the new colour schemes.
The 2015 Suzuki GSX-R1000 comes in a choice of two colour schemes, the Suzuki MotoGP GSX-RR inspired Metallic Triton Blue or Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Matt Grey and is backed by Suzuki’s two-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.
