2016 Australasian FX Superbike TV Package announced
2016 is once again shaping up as another huge year for Australian motorcycle road racing and its stakeholders with Australian Road & Track Rider Promotions (ARTRP) announcing an expanded television coverage package for the six round 2016 Swann Insurance Australasian Superbike Championship Series (the series).
To start off with, the series will once again receive three by one-hour shows shown on the nationally shown free to air SBS network, in Australia’s longest standing and most popular motorsport show Speedweek which goes to air on Sunday afternoons. Another bonus for the series is usually the Superbike class is shown on SBS just one week after each round.
SBS is not the only channel to provide excellent coverage of the Swann Superbike Championship Series, Fox Sports also covers the series with an additional six by one-hour shows per round usually on their very popular Sports5 Channel.
Add in the ever improving live free to view internet coverage through the impressive MotorsportsTV app and ‘SuperbikeTV’ internet live streaming show on websites and facebook pages of all of Sundays races and interviews from each round and the domestic coverage of the series is truly impressive and on a scale not closely rivalled in the sport.
In 2015 the Swann Superbike Series overseas coverage grew to include for the first time South America which was added to the impressive list of countries and zones including the USA and Canada and throughout Europe to over thirty countries as well as the UK and NZ. Having Australian racing shown throughout Europe is possibly the best way for Aussie racers to get noticed in the country’s most riders with overseas ambitions hope to get noticed in.
The one area the series was missing out on previously being shown was South East Asia and ARTRP is very pleased to announce that the Superbike and Supersport classes will now be shown throughout most of the SEA zone from 2016 with a final list of Asian countries to be announced in coming weeks. This means that the vast majority of the world’s motorsport fans will now have the opportunity to see the Australasian Superbike Championship and the great racing that our nation’s racers deliver.
Add to that every one of the one hour TV shows is available to be watched only three days after going to air on Speedweek’s own Catch Up TV www.speedweek.com.au
This level of television and electronic media coverage from a domestic race series is, we believe, unrivalled around the globe and provides Australian road racers with the best tools available to promote themselves both here in Australian and around the world. It also provides series sponsors with exceptional and unrivalled exposure for their brands and products.
AVE Pty Ltd managing director Greg Sita commented; “We are proud to be associated with the Australasian Superbike Championship series, the premium motorcycle race series in the country. We are especially excited about the great racing entertainment that the series brings to our shows viewers both here in Australia and worldwide via Speedweek and the stand alone motor racing programs on SBS and Foxsports along with the Catch Up TV, SBS on Demand and the MotorsportsTV app website.”
