Thailand FP1 Results
Maverick Vinales set a 1m31.220 on a fresh Michelin soft rear tyre to top the opening session at Chang International Circuit this afternoon.
Valentino Rossi finished the session second quickest to make it a rare, of late, Yamaha 1-2 at the top of the timesheets ahead of Andrea Dovizioso.
Jack Miller was the fastest Ducati rider here at the test early in the year and his liking for the circuit does not seem to have waned with the young Australian ending FP1 fourth quickest ahead of reigning World Champion Marc Marquez.
Andrea Iannone was the top Suzuki in seventh while Scott Redding made a rare appearance in the top ten aboard the Aprilia.
Jorge Lorenzo’s weekend is off to a slow start down in 17th place, 1.3-seconds off the early benchmark set by Vinales.
