Malcolm Wally Campbell’s tips for Tasmanian motorycle touring
Australian road racing legend Malcolm ‘Wally’ Campbell recently starred in a Tasmanian Government funded road safety project.
The video aims to help educate riders enjoying the delights of motorcycle touring in Tasmania, and thereby reduce the amount of interstate visitors crashing their motorcycles while enjoying the great roads and scenery that motorcyclists enjoy while visiting Tasmania.
Visitors to Tasmania make up more than half of the number of riders seriously injured or killed on Tasmanian roads. And 86 per cent of those incidents were single vehicle accidents, involving only one motorcycle.
The video contains plenty of tips from Wally and fellow motorcyclist Lester Knowles, that would be wise to be taken heed of before any ride on Australian country roads, but of course in this case, there is a particular focus on Tasmanian motorcycle touring.
