2013 IDM –Â Zolder
The Belgian Zolder was the venue for the first time this weekend * IDM SUPERBIKE. 9,000 spectators witnessed an exciting race weekend in which, among other things, the changing weather conditions for varied scenes attended by the wayside.
“We are happy that the SUPERBIKE * IDM premiere was well received at Zolder both drivers and teams as well as the spectators,” said Bert Poensgen, managing director of the series promoter motor events HMP GmbH “Ahead there was already so one or other critical voice to route choice. Well turns out that it was the right decision to come here at the start. ”
Rain dominated the two Superbike races today, the second run was therefore declared directly to wet race. BMW driver Damian Cudlin won one race and for the third time this season. Even after the second run, a BMW driver was high on the podium. Rookie Mark Reiterberger stormed to first victory in his young Superbike career. For Yamaha Gareth Jones scored twice and drove in two races over the finish line in second place. Finally the HRP Honda team could breathe, as Michi Ranseder third place took the first podium finish this season in the first race. BMW driver Kevin Valk, winner of yesterday’s qualifying and just like Reiterberger a rookie in the Superbike class, could rejoice in third place in the second race.
When integrated into the superbike field or are introduced in this season Superstock 1000 class this weekend dominated local hero Bastien Mackels his BMW. He was followed by two race wins his qualifying success. In second place came the first race Kawasaki rider Daniel Sutter before Mackels brand colleague Dominic Vincon. In the second race Sutter and Vincon swapped places.
In the Supersport 600 and Moto3 classes today, the respective second race of the weekend was held.
It won Super Sport Pilot Wim van den Broeck (Yamaha) won the race on his home track, followed by Jed Metcher on his Suzuki and yesterday Unlucky Kevin True (Yamaha), who this time secured the third place on the podium.
In Moto3 other hand, the question of who can halt to the Dutch Bryan Schouten (Honda). He also won the Sunday race and thus the fourth Moto3 race of the season in a row. Second place went to Scott Deroue on his Kalex-KTM, who usually starts in the international Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, before Daniel Kartheininger (KTM) third.
For the final race of the day ensured the sidecars, where the guest starter team Päivärinta / Kainulainen took the first place. Closely followed by team Kretzer / Lehnertz, which did not make it to the World and European champions easily. With a distance of more than 46 seconds, the two teams dominated the race. Third place went to a thrilling chase Hock / Becker.
After a five-week break, will the next race weekend of the IDM SUPERBIKE * 2013 of 14 to 16 June in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Just a week later (June 21 to 23) later it goes to Austria at the Red Bull Ring.
