The latest from Pit Lane.
Some of the top riders such as Josh Waters and Wayne Maxwell have been up here since Sunday and will have a slight advantage in the hot and humid condition in Darwin. Riders that spent a few days to get familiar with the conditions have a lso attended various public appearances throughout the week in this NT Events promoted event. The newspaper and television press of the event each year in Darwin has to be seen to be appreciated, you can’t turn on the TV, read a newspaper or listen to the radio without knowing ASBK is in town.
First practice has seen a lot of teams struggle with setup, many coming in after just a few laps.
Josh Waters spent the total first session out on track and looked very comfortable with the conditions.
Robbie Bugden experienced some front brake issues.
Wayne Maxwell completed a hand full of laps and is making some big suspension changes. Wayne is keen to reverse his first round points tally at Hidden Valley this weekend.
Glenn Allerton said; The first session is very much about setup, he also went on to say it’s an awesome track that is technically challenging, Glenn is looking forward to improving his championship standings this weekend.
Josh Hook was happy with his first time at the track on the Supersport bike, he was only 1.5 seconds off the record set by Rick Olsen. Suzuki rider Brodie Waters wasn’t happy with the bike in the back section, the team are analysing the problems to improve the settings.
There was no live timing for practice.
