Suzuki boost contingency fund for racers to $150,000
Helping privateer Suzuki racers achieve their goals, Suzuki’s Support Rider (SSR) program is bigger than ever in 2008.
In its eighth year, the program will distribute $150,000* worth of contingency payments to Suzuki privateers competing in national and state-level Road Racing or Off-Road Racing Championships.
“Suzuki is proud to increase its commitment to Australian motorcycle racing with our Support Rider program in 2008,” Perry Morison, General Manager, Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia said.
“Privateer Racers are a key part of competition and we’re delighted to be able to continue to reward their efforts at state and national levels with $150,000* of contingency payments.”
The top-three SSR-registered riders in each national event – including Under 19s Motocross and the Australian Women’s Motocross Championships – will receive payments of $500*, $350* and $250* respectively.
Similar payments will also be made to the top-three privateer Suzuki riders in state Road Racing and Motocross competition, based on final championship standings.
Interested competitors can download and submit an SSR registration form found at www.suzukimotorcycles.com.au.
Registration is free and successful applicants will receive an SSR Registration Number, to be used when lodging contingency payment claims during the 2008 racing season.
Riders who register for the Suzuki Support Rider program receive significant discounts off eligible Suzuki models as well as access to Suzuki’s championship-winning race teams – Team Joe Rocket Suzuki and Team Shift Motul Suzuki,
