Cole Takes Out Barry Sheene Memorial
New Zealand based Dave Cole made the trip across the Tasman worthwhile when he took out the annual Barry Sheene Memorial over the weekend at Sydney’s Eastern Creek Raceway in NSW.
Cole, who also took out the Premier 500cc GP class on the weekend, dominated the entire 6-lap distance and ended up comfortably defeating the Queensland based pair of Damien Kavney and David Woolsey in second and third place respectively.
Reigning Barry Sheene Memorial champion Glen Kelleher failed to successfully defend his title due to suffering mechanical woes on the opening lap of the race and therefore retired back to the pit enclosure.
All in all it was yet another successful Barry Sheene Memorial event where all the riders enjoyed themselves and a good crowd rolled up to witness this annual event.
