Mick Doohan and son Jack team up with Pramac for F4
Mick Doohan’s son Jack is preparing to take the next step in his four-wheel racing career with a step up to the British F4 Championship in 2018, the UK’s premier single-seater series.
Very different to the fire-breathing 500cc two-strokes that his father rode, the F4 cars are powered by a 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost engine making 160hp and is open to 15-year-old drivers. With Jack turning that number in January of this year the category is the next logical step in his career.
This is of course not the only tie-up for Pramac, an Italian company renowned for their power generation equipment, both large and small. They are of course naming rights sponsor of the Alma-Pramac Ducati Racing Team which fields another Aussie named Jack, that is of course Jack Miller who is joined in the squad by Danilo Petrucci.
The partnership between Pramac and Doohan Motorsport also involves Mick Doohan as a public face of Pramac in their marketing activities.
Mick Doohan (Doohan Motorsport)
“I feel extremely privileged to be part of the Pramac family in 2018, as an ambassador. Being associated with such a passionate brand, gives our family great pride. Jack Doohan (my son) will compete in the 2018 British F4 Championship along with selected German and Italian F4 races with support from Pramac”
The Pramac logo will be positioned on Jack Doohan’s suit and car during the British F4 Championship for 2018 and selected German and Italian F4 races.
Paolo Campinoti (CEO Pramac)
“It’s with great pride and satisfaction that we have reached this agreement with Mick and Jack Doohan. Pramac’s logo will be displayed on Jack’s car in one of the most interesting championships in the single-seater world. In addition, Mick will be our testimonial both in a market as important to us as the Australian one and globally. This partnership confirms the deep friendship that binds Pramac to the Doohan family. We’ll all be supporting Jack in the 2018 season”.
