Misano MotoGP Press Conference
From time to time the Rossi and Marquez rivalry has boiled over but more recently most of that talk has seem fairly settled.
While Rossi himself has only made small outbursts against his rival from time to time, and normally via favoured media rather than directly or in public, his sidekick Alessio Salucci has been less than circumspect in his feeling towards Marquez. You don’t need the audio when the body language shouts volumes…
After their clash in Argentina Marquez had sought to enter the Yamaha garage to apologise to Rossi, only to be blocked from access by Salucci.
In the press Rossi then called Marquez a coward for coming with his manager, rather than alone, and in front of the cameras, rather than in private.
In the press conference ahead of this weekend’s Misano MotoGP Rossi was asked if he would make peace with Marquez.
“It sounds a bit strange to me because in reality there are no problems between Marc and I, so I don’t know why we have to make peace.”
Later in the presser, the subject was brought up again and Marquez offered his hand to Rossi, who was sat alongside him.
“For me it’s nice,” says Marquez. “Of course it’s no problem for me, let’s shake hands…a second time. It’s not a problem for me.”
Rossi did not take his hand, “We don’t need to shake hands. It’s ok. We don’t have any problems.”
I guess we can read into that what we will….
