Bryan Staring replacing Bo Bendsneyder
Following his unfortunate accident on the last lap of the Japanese Grand Prix last Sunday, Bo Bendsneyder remains in Tokyo’s Okubo Hospital, where he is receiving the best possible treatment on his broken left tibia.
For this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix, the French Tech3 squad has recruited Bryan Staring to take over the Mistral 610 from the Dutch rookie.
The West Australian arrives with a wealth of experience, including a one-off ride in the 125cc World Championship in 2004, and a full season with a troubled FTR Honda squad in the 2013 MotoGP season.
Rides in British Superbike, World Superbike, World Supersport and European Superstock also form part of Bryan’s CV but this weekend will be the first time he has slung a leg over a Moto2 machine.
Staring has previously earned Australian Championship crowns in the 125 GP, Supersport and Superbike categories.
This year the 31-year old raced in the Australian Superbike Championship for BCperformance Kawasaki and finished the season sixth overall.
