Preparations are nearly complete for the 2014 Yamaha Australian Four Day Enduro (A4DE) to be staged at Riverwood Downs, near Dungog in New South Wales, starting on August 11. With 300 competitors already entered and some of the best riding country in Australia, this years’ event is sure to be on for the ages.
The prestigious and high profile off road event is on track to be one of the best with the motorcycle industry and local community rallying around the event and an impressive list of competitors set to do battle for the most important race in the off road racing calendar.
This years’ event will see the riders and teams based at the Riverwood Downs Resort with the entire course branching out from the resort. The trails in the area are a great mix of dirt and terrain with plenty of challenges to keep the riders on their toes and determine the best of the best.
“Yamaha Australia is again proud to be behind the A4DE,” states Yamaha Motorsport Manager, Ray Howard. “This event has long been the pinnacle of off road motorcycle events in Australia and we have worked closely with event organisers to ensure that 2014 edition lives up to that billing.
“Having the resort as the base for riders and teams will make for a great atmosphere and the final moto takes place right in the back yard of where all the competitors will be staying.
“We look forward to a fantastic event,” Howard ends.
The first Australian Four Day Enduro was run back in 1978 and this year marks the 36th consecutive running of the marque race. Competitors will race over four days with a range of trail sections as well as numerous special tests throughout each day before the final motocross moto to determine class and outright winners.
“Our aim is to produce an event that the riders will talk about in years to come,” said event organiser Trent Lean. “There is some spectacular riding in this area and the local community has been very enthusiastic about hosting the event so we just hope the weather is on our side and the week will produce some great action.
“We have also been fortunate to work alongside some great people and companies. The Dungog Motorcycle club and NSW Enduro Committee have put countless hours into organising the event and to have Yamaha on board as a major sponsor and assisting us has been great.
“There are still some things to attend to but we will have everything in place well before the event and hope everyone enjoys their stay in the area.”
