BMW GS Safari-Enduro, Darwin to Port Douglas – The Ultimate Adventure Ride
The BMW GS Safari-Enduro for 2014 will be one to remember, encompassing eight-days and 3,500 km’s, it will set out from Darwin on July 13 and finish at Port Douglas on July 21.
This epic event will give intrepid adventure riders the opportunity to truly experience the remoteness of the outback, with a tropical twist. Passing through iconic locations such as Mataranka Springs, Katherine Gorge and Karumba in the Gulf Country, this will be an incredible riding experience. The Safari will conclude in Port Douglas, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, after winding its way through the magnificent Daintree.
Building on the success of the inaugural GS Safari-Enduro in 2013, the 2014 event will feature a full GS Safari support crew and accommodation that will set this ride apart as a total outback experience. Due to the remoteness of the locations along the journey, there will be a full camp setup for three nights. As an added bonus, all riders will be given their very own BMW Safari branded swag as a souvenir of this memorable ride.
Prior to leaving Darwin, there will be an optional off road training course where participants can brush up on their skills.
According to Miles Davis, Marketing Manager for BMW Motorrrad Australia, this year’s GS Safari-Enduro will be an experience of a life time.
“For the true adventure rider travelling through the great Australian outback in the company of other BMW GS riders with the support of the BMW Safari team would be a dream come true. I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend eight days,” he said.
“Places for this outback experience are strictly limited and they will fill quickly. To avoid disappointment riders are advised to get in early!” said Miles.
