Bryan Staring to ride in BSB Finale
Team WD-40 announced today (Wednesday) that Bryan Staring will line up for the team at this weekend’s (17/18/19 October) final round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch.
We spoke to Bryan about the Brands Hatch deal.
“I’ve always taken a big interest in the BSB championship as all riders do.
“After speaking with the GR moto Sport WD40 team we came to an agreement to make the final race of the season together.
“It’s an opportunity I’m very grateful for and really looking forward to the challenge, especially with such a professional team.”
The team have signed the 27-year-old Australian contender for the triple-header event after mutually agreeing with Barry Burrell to part company.
Staring has previous track knowledge of Brands Hatch. He competed at the Kent circuit in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 class for Honda UK in 2010 and has since raced in both the MotoGP and World Superbike Championships.
Team WD-40 team manager Brent Gladwin said: “These situations are never very easy to manage but we as a Team wish Barry well for the future. In moving forward we were overwhelmed by the interest from riders around the world and are excited to have Bryan with us for this event. Bryan’s international pedigree speaks for itself, with duties in both MotoGP and WSB. We are looking forward to working with him to evaluate and continue our programme with the Superbike.”
The final, title-deciding round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship takes place on the Brands Hatch GP circuit on 17/18/19 October.
