Meet the legends of World and AMA Motocross at Classic Dirt 12, June 11/12 2016
Australia has it’s fair share of true legends that have been involved in the off-road dirtbike scene; there’s Stephen Gall, Craig Dack, Mike Landman plus a few more. Well actually a lot more, but they are about to be joined this weekend at CD12 (Classic Dirt) by a World Champion Motocross Legend and a six-time AMA Motocross Legend.
Finnish rider Heikki Mikkola, winner of four World Motocross Championships is setting foot in Australia for the first time and will be joined by six-time AMA Motocross Championship winner Broc Glover.
Glover is Dunlop’s Senior Manager, Motorcycle Off-Road, and won all of his Championships aboard Yamaha’s.
There will be a Legends’ Laps session around midday both days ,with interviews and the occasional roost enduring lap filled with two-stroke fumes.
On Saturday afternoon a Question and Answer session will be held with Heikki Mikkola and Broc Glover in the main marquee hosted by Macca.
Yamaha is displaying their 60th Anniversary roadshow featuring their racing memorabilia for the last time before it is packed away for good.
Plus there will also be plenty of Trade Displays and numerous immaculately restored bikes in and around the pit area for people to ooh and aah over.
Gates open 7.30am Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the majority of riding action happening on Saturday and Sunday.
