British Superbike Championship stalwarts PR Racing are set to make a notable return to International Roads competition at the upcoming Macau Grand Prix, having secured the services of Australian star David Johnson to pilot the outfit’s S 1000 RR BMW.
No stranger to the Liverpool based outfit, Adelaide’s Johnson is looking forward to working again with the team, with which he enjoyed strong results at the TT’s of 2012, 2013 and 2014, including banking a fourth-place finish in the Superstock race of 2014.
Established among the premier echelon of International Road Racing, the calm, cool and laid back Johnson has quietly impressed in 2018, including on the mythical Mountain Course.
Teaming up with the SMR (Shaun Muir Racing) run Gulf BMW team, he added to his TT CV an additional trio of fourth place finishes, following performances in the RST Superbike and Royal London 360 Quantum Superstock races.
August’s MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix saw ‘Davo’ pilot the distinctive HP4 Race BMW, yielding more excellent results including a battling third place finish in the feature Superbike race.

“I’m happy to ride for PR Racing at Macau. I have ridden for them in the past and they have really stepped it up in the past few years so the bike will be competitive. I’m very confident of a top five finish, and gunning for a spot on the podium.”
