— Take a ride with Mick Doohan
— Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show 1-3 November 2013
The Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show has announced a charity ride as part of this year’s Show, which will be headed up by Aussie super-star Mick Doohan!
The ride will take place though Perth’s northern suburbs and will finish at Claremont Showgrounds so that participants can then head to the Show.
Show organiser Peter Woods said he was thrilled to have Mick’s involvement in the charity ride, and said he hoped this would attract all the motorbike enthusiasts in Perth to take part.
“Mick Doohan is legendary in Australian motor sports. Five times Moto GP World, three times in theplaced in the Australian Sports Hall of Fame – there’s not many people who can claim the achievement’s Mick can,” Peter said.
“It is brilliant to have such a legend involved in the charity ride, and the people of Perth wont want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to take a ride with Mick Doohan!”
The ride will take place 10am Saturday 2nd November and will begin at the carpark off Puccini Court, Stirling – behind the City of Stirling. The ride will have a scheduled route through the suburbs to finish at Claremont Showgrounds. Cost is $20, plus all participants then receive $5 off their entry ticket into the Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show.
The Mick Doohan Charity Ride will support YouthFocus, a West Australian charity that helps youth dealing with suicide and other mental health issues. Mick Doohan will be on stage at the Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show to make a presentation to YouthFocus at approximately 12.30pm on the Saturday, following the close of the charity ride.
Peter said he is also pleased that other Show guests will participate in the ride, including international guest Charley Boorman, and WA Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan.
