Glen Richards – Island Classic Interview 1
Interview conducted with Glen Richards after Island Classic International Challenge Race Two
“Yeah, look I’m enjoying riding around this racetrack. It’s probably the biggest thing for me. I did the classic last year, but before that it was probably in the 90’s last time I rode here. I love the race track and I enjoy the whole atmosphere and this race meeting.
“I’m really struggling, as a lot are, at keeping the bike going at a decent level.
“We struggled on Thursday with electrical problems and carburation problems. So I didn’t really do much.
“This morning’s race went quite well, but this afternoon the bike’s lost power and pumping oil out, so what do you do.
“I’ve been living in England for 20 years, so obviously the British Championship is part of me cause that’s where I have done my whole career. These boys are my mates. They’ve given me a great bike to ride and they couldn’t be nicer to me.
“I try hard to keep my Australian accent, but it is difficult sometimes.”
