Harley-Davidson enthusiasts from across Australia are set to flock into Cairns, Far North Queensland, to take part in one of the most anticipated events of the riding calendar – the annual Australian Harley Owners Group (H.O.G) Rally, from Friday 2nd – Sunday 4th May.
This year’s event will see over a thousand riders enjoying a phenomenal line-up of daily entertainment, whilst taking in the stunning scenery and local hospitality of Far North Queensland.
With the option to participate in the final day’s renowned Thunder Run, as well as five stunning chapter-led local rides, this year’s attendees will have the chance to experience some of the best motorcycling terrain Australia has on offer.
Marketing Director for Harley-Davidson Australia, Adam Wright added: “As always, we have a jam-packed schedule in store with major entertainment highlights, but in terms of scenery the 2014 H.O.G Rally will be unsurpassed.
“Participants can look forward to riding through fields of cane sugar, rainforests, hillsides and some incredible coastlines.”
He added: “This year, the ride will have even more significance as we travel through areas recently affected by the cyclones. We hope the H.O.G Rally will bring welcome trade to local communities that have suffered during this time,” said Wright.
Organisers of the event are encouraging locals to ‘not miss’ the opportunity to see the spectacular sight and hear the distinctive roar of the Sunday Thunder Run, as hundreds of riders and their Harley-Davidson motorcycles roll through Cairns’ town centre on the morning of the 4th May and finish on the Cairns Esplanade at 11am.
As always, the event also offers a phenomenal entertainment line-up. The 23rd H.O.G Australia National Rally will feature a special performance from one of the country’s most celebrated soul singers, Lisa Hunt on Friday 2nd May. In addition to this, world renowned stunt rider, Matt Mingay will provide daily edge-of-your-seat entertainment.
Other highlights for attendees include the aforementioned Guided Rides with the local Cape York Chapter, bike games, The Harley-Davidson Jumpstart Rider Experience, an exciting stationary simulator for non-riders, 2014 model year demo and display bikes, Dyno Drag Simulator and even piglet racing.
The HD-1 Custom Shop will also be present at the event, offering riders the opportunity to envisage their dream Harley with inspiration from more than 300 unpackaged products and a range of innovative, interactive features.
