Honda 1-2 in opening qualifying at Winton ASBK Finale
The opening 30-minute qualifying session for ASBK Superbike competitors took place on a drying, but still very wet Winton this morning at 1030 this morning. After what has been the wettest week of the year across Victoria, water is seeping from everywhere around the track but overall the actual circuit seems to be coping remarkably well with the deluge.
Troy Herfoss dominated the opening session to top the field by more than a second, and in a shot across the bows of the Yamaha men Crankt Protein Honda’s Jamie Stauffer, while almost a second slower than Herfoss, was a full second ahead of third placed Glenn Allerton.
This afternoon’s second 30-minute qualifying session is scheduled to take place around 1425 this afternoon ahead of the ten-minute Pirelli Superpole Top Six Shootout, which is slated for 1520 this afternoon.
