Honda RC30
With Phil Aynsley
This particular Honda RC30 is Freddie Spencer’s back-up bike from 1991. That year saw Spencer race for Two Brothers Racing Team in the US after his GP career had ended. This RC30 was mainly used for testing and development.
It features the full HRC RC Kit: electronics including wiring loom, CDI, coils, tacho and magneto; race radiator & temp gauge; vented brake rotors, fork internals and rear shock, plus 17 inch magnesium wheels.
The HRC Kit engine parts included pistons, rods, cams, valves, deeper sump, magnesium covers and exhaust system. Flat-slide Keihin 39 mm carburettors were fitted.
The frame had additional bracing welded on the side beams and around the steering head. The quick filler for the tank was presumably installed for Daytona. A period dyn0 chart shows the bike made 133 horsepower at the rear wheel.
