Husqvarna re-launch into Australia at Moto Expo
The world’s oldest manufacturer with uninterrupted production – Husqvarna – is about to display its new model range in Victoria for the very first time since the relaunch of the brand in 2013.
The Insure My Ride Moto Expo which opens at Ascot Vale in Melbourne tomorrow morning will showcase the latest products from over 100 (mostly two-wheeled) exhibitors.
As one of the most advanced and competitive names in off-road competition, Husqvarna’s presence at the Expo is particularly exciting – and particularly appropriate too, as one of the oldest and most respected marques in the business.
More than 110 years after producing its first motorcycle, the famous Swedish-born brand is known as one of the pioneers of motocross, as creator of one of the very first production off-road motorcycles in history.
During the golden age of dirt bikes in the 1960s and 70s a rich heritage and tradition quickly grew, as Husqvarna stormed to 14 world motocross titles, 24 European enduro Championships and 11 Baja 1000 victories.
Similarly in Australia, 2014 has been an incredible time for the new-look Husqvarna racing team, with the Husqvarna TC 250 winning the MXD title, as well as 10 MXD race wins and 11 in MX2.
Out in the bush, Glenn Kearney powered his Husqvarna FE 501 to an Australian enduro championship and an AORC title, while Damo Smith did the same in the vets category aboard his Husqvarna FE 350.
Just last weekend, hard enduro expert Graham Jarvis proved the pedigree of his Husqvarna TE 300 in extreme enduro, winning the Wildwood Rock extreme enduro north of Melbourne.
Now, very nearly 60 years after that original 1955 Silverpilen revolutionised off-road motorcycling and Husqvarna’s place therein, its latest and greatest descendants will be at Moto Expo in force, showcasing their unique blend of traditional principles and premium quality.
Visitors to the stand will be able to see all the exciting new 2015 2- and 4-stroke enduro and motocross models in the flesh and experience first-hand the latest technical refinements which will ensure class-leading performance across the range.
The new model range features include state-of-the-art WP 4CS forks, chromium molybdenum steel frames, updated poylamide rear subframes, peak engine performance across all displacements and new rear suspension linkages – and that’s just for starters.
You can catch all the details at the show.
In addition, with the Husqvarna stand will carry two fully boosted Husky Power Parts demo models; an FC 450 motocrosser and a TE 300 enduro bike displaying all the latest products from the Husky Power Parts catalogue.
For those looking to express their passion for the brand via hot new riding or casual gear, you can also check out the latest Husky Style casual and riding gear on display.
Out on the track, Husky fans will be able to watch Husqvarna dirt track legend Paul Caslick attempt to win back-to-back victories in the Baylisstic Scramble teams event, then come and meet the man himself back at the Husqvarna stand.
You can find the Husqvarna display at stand number 113.
Moto Expo hours are: Friday 28th November (10am – 7pm) Saturday 29th (9am-6pm) and Sunday 30th November (9am-5pm).

Paul Caslick – Husqvarna racer, Coach and Brand Ambassador: “I’m looking forward to this; it’s going to be a lot of fun. I love talking to people. I used to get kicked out of class for talking, but I’m passionate about what I do, and I’m excited to be punting the Husky around the track.
“I may not breathe fire quite the way I did when I was younger, but I’ll still have the race face on, and we did it in Brisbane, so I’m going there to win it again!
“Troy Bayliss has picked the best riders who he knows will put on a show, so if you can get a win up on those guys, you’ve done okay. I really can’t wait to go down and have a good time with my friends, do some work for the sponsors, shake a few people’s hands, it’ll be great.”
