15,774 Queenslanders converged on Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds over the weekend for the inaugural MOTO EXPO presented by Insure My Ride and featuring the Motul Pirelli Baylisstic Scramble.
Show goers experienced an all-new approach to consumer exhibitions with MOTO EXPO offering interactive activations such as test rides, come and try zones, non-stop entertainment and Saturday nights Baylisstic Scramble racing program.
The event boasted over 90 exhibitors that included a huge lineup of manufacturers, supporting products and services.
Event Organiser Troy Bayliss said he was thrilled with the feedback from both the industry and visitors to MOTO EXPO.
“Moto Expo was a complete new project for Troy Bayliss Events,” Bayliss said. “Our plan was to create a market leading motorcycle exhibition that would showcase the industry in the best way possible.
“We had a great mix of demonstrations and test zones that accompanied the excellent trade stands and it brought the show to life just like we had intended.
“I want to thank all the exhibitors, visitors and industry peers who supported the event, bring on Melbourne MOTO EXPO,” Bayliss added.
Yamaha, BMW, Ducati, Triumph, Harley-Davidson, Can-Am, Vespa and Victory all used the event to unveil 13 brand new motorcycles to the Australian market for the first time.
Adam Wright, Director of Marketing for Harley-Davidson Australia commented.
“The 2014 MOTO EXPO was an unprecedented success for Harley-Davidson,” Wright said. “We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to debut our three new models – the new Low Rider, SuperLow 1200T and Street Bob Special – to such a receptive crowd and showcase everything Harley-Davidson has to offer to our loyal fans in Queensland.
“Our aim for MOTO EXPO was to provide an unparalleled customer experience, offering demo rides of our entire 2014 model range – as well as the H-D JumpStart which welcomed everyone at the show to have a go at zipping through the gears on a real Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
“The reaction we got from all who visited our stand was second to none so we’d like to thank everyone who came along – as well as our two Authorised Harley-Davidson dealerships Morgan and Wacker and Gasoline Alley – who helped make it such a great weekend,” Wright added.
Over 9000 people packed the grandstands to witness the return of flat track racing to the hallowed main arena. Some of the biggest names in motorcycle racing took to the track including three-time Speedway World Champion Jason Crump who thrilled the crowd with a demonstration on board his 2012 Speedway World Championship bike.
“To have a race in the middle of the expos program was very unique,” Bayliss continued.
“I just want to thank all the riders who competed and all the fans that stayed to enjoy the scramble and well done to my mate Caso for taking the chequered flag.”
