Josh Pamment from Beaudesert Motorcycles wins Honda Technician Excellence Award
Honda has revealed the winner of its inaugural Honda Certified Technician (HCT) Excellence Award.
Beaudesert motorcycle technician Josh Pamment was last month announced as the 2014 Excellence Award winner.
Launched in April, over 230 motorcycle technicians from around the country were assessed against a thorough criterion to determine the regional winners and overall national winner.
Keith Lewis, Manager – Training Services at Honda “Five years ago we started our very successful Honda Certified Technician (HCT) Training Program. To further demonstrate Honda’s commitment to technicians and the role they play within our industry, we have completed our first HCT Excellence Award this year. The award has exceeded all of our expectations for Technician take up and we’re all excited about what’s to come in the 2015 Excellence Award”.
Five regional finalists were chosen to attend the final presentation last month in Melbourne, where trophies were presented by Honda Managing Director Mr Hiroaki Funami, while Honda’s Director Mr Robert Toscano announced the winners.
Finalists: Bryce Thompson (NSW), Tom Ames (NT/SA), Troy Winzer (VIC/TAS), Brook Lawson (WA) and Josh Pamment (QLD) all received an exclusive finalists package, which included return flights to Melbourne, accommodation, VIP tickets to the 2014 Australian MotoGP, a regional winner trophy and dinner in the winner’s honour.
Josh Pamment also received a brand new Honda CBR650F as the national winner’s prize.
“I didn’t think I had a chance at taking out the main prize. When I got the call that I had made the top 5 I was excited, and finding out I was the national winner it took a second to sink in. I would like to thank Honda for giving me the opportunity to participate in this great program. The HCT training program is a great way for technicians to train and keep up to date with the latest Honda technology. The bike is awesome and I can’t stop riding it – it gives me a smile from ear to ear,” Mr Pamment said.
The winning technician’s dealership, Beaudesert Motorcycles, also received an advertising package including window signage, print advertising in their local paper and the right to use the HCT Excellence Award winner 2014 logo in their communications.
Honda would like to congratulate the winners and thank all the technicians who participated in the awards program and look forward to continuing the program in 2015.
