KTM to release new fuel-injected 350cc motocrosser with linkage rear end
KTM have announced the impending release of an all new 350cc motocross machine complete with fuel-injection and a conventional linkage style rear suspension system.
The project has apparently been headed up by KTM Team Manager and ten time World Motocross Champion Stefan Everts. The images released by KTM even carry Everts’ famous #72 on its plates highlighting the connection with the Belgian superstar.
KTM has dropped no hints as to when the new 350 will be available to consumers but it is a safe bet that the machine will be blooded in top level competition at some stage in season 2010 well before the finalised product hits showroom floors later in the year.
It is also expected that when the 2011 range of KTM motocross machines are released late next year the conventional linkage rear end will be fitted across the entire motocross range. Breaking a long time defiance of the Austrian brand to follow the established trend while maintaining their adherence to the PDS style system which sees the shock absorber mounted directly to the swingarm rather than actuated through a linkage.
