Neale Wilson – Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki Team Manager
“We are very pleased to be able to finally announce that Kyle will be joining us in 2017. As a team, we’ve had a long standing relationship with Kyle and he’s actually raced with us back when we were a privateer team – so when we saw his speed during the final two rounds of motocross and also in Supercross, it was an easy decision to offer him a position at Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki for 2017. We have already celebrated many podiums with Suzuki in what was our first year with the brand and it’s clear that they have provided us with a very competitive bike. With Kyle and Luke on yellow machines next year, we are very excited about going racing once again, and believe we have the ingredients required to win championships. I would like to thank our sponsors and partners who continue to support us, as well as Todd Waters for his contribution to our success in 2016. We wish Todd all the best with his future endeavours.”
With the news now out, Peters, who raced to an MX1 moto win at his first Australian race for the year at Toowoomba, and also secured third place on the Round 3 SX1 podium in Supercross, says that he believes Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki is the perfect fit for him for 2017.
Kyle Peters
“When I first arrived in Australia it was meant to be for three weeks and I was just going to do a couple of races, but once I got there and I saw just how competitive both Motocross and Supercross were, I made sure people knew that I wanted to be back there racing full time in 2017. To have the chance to race for Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki in 2017 is a dream come true. They proved this year they have everything you need to win, and I’m confident that together we can achieve more great things for the brand. I raced for Neale in Supercross in 2014, and Luke was also my teammate back then, so we know what works for us, we’ve had success together before and I’m just so excited to have the opportunity to come back to Oz and spend a full season racing there.”
Peter’s teammate Wilson will complete the team’s two rider line up for 2017, and shared that after such a successful first year with Suzuki, that he too believes he can step things up throughout next season.
Luke Wilson
“I’m pumped to have the opportunity to race for Factory Suzuki again next year. This year I set out some goals for myself, some of which I achieved, but I believe I have a lot more in me and I’m very excited to be able to continue chasing those goals in to 2017. We have very competitive machinery and the right people around us, which are two of the most important things needed to go racing, so I’m really looking forward to improving on my experiences from this season, and lining up at round one of the motocross ready to go in April next year.”
