CDR Yamaha’s Jay Marmont will miss round eight of the MX Nationals at Raymond Terrace after sustaining a wrist injury during the previous round at Conondale, three weeks ago.
Marmont over jumped the big ‘Drunks Hill’ jump at Conondale and jarred his wrist badly forcing him to sit out the final moto but believed he would be right for Raymond Terrace event, but unfortunately, his wrist hasn’t come up.
“I have had a range of scans and X-rays on my wrist since Conondale and there is nothing broken or seriously damaged but I just don’t have the strength in it to race properly, especially around a track like Raymond Terrace.
“I would love to be out there as I always enjoy racing there but I have to take the common-sense approach and not risk any further damage,” Marmont ends.
Marmont is working hard to be back to 100% for the final two rounds in Gladstone and Coolum at the end of August.
CDR Yamaha will still have two YZ450F’s on the track with Billy Mackenzie shooting for more podiums while Jacob Wright will continue with his four round guest ride with the factory Yamaha team.
Mackenzie comes into the round in good form after finishing third at Conondale, highlighted with a moto win. He currently sits in third place in the MX1 championship and is determined to make every post a winner at the final few rounds.
Wright will be better for his ride at Conondale and has spent a lot more seat time on the YZ450F getting better acquainted with his new ride.
Also on hand for the CDR Yamaha crew will be there off road stars of Chris Hollis and Daniel Milner. With the A4DE to be held at Dungog, not far from the Raymond Terrace circuit, both riders will be on hand to promote the upcoming event and media are asked to speak freely with the guys at the CDR truck during the lunch break.
