“Yeah pretty happy with third. that was our goal, we weren’t sure if we could achieve it or not, but we have. Hopefully if we get an invite from Fergus again we’ll be back.

“The standouts, how about Hilton on the flat front tyre that’s pretty good, Paul Byrne really good results with three good finishes. But everyone put in a huge effort and everyone deserves credit, it was super.

“We had a few sports sponsors that bought in a quid for us, but mainly organised it between ourselves.

“We brought seven bikes out in the container and we had a few here. I had a Katana here from last year and then Tom Dermody who lives up in Brisbane sponsored Paul Byrne and John Walsh on two bikes also, and also we brought Trevor Manley into our team.

“I think the step we achieved this year was quite good. I think to go any further is going to be quite difficult I think it requires a quite different budget. I think if we could find the right bikes we could do it, but there’s a lot of money in those team bikes.”
