Stroke Supercross Summer Nationals
Round 1 – Rutter Park, Tooradin (VIC)
Craig Anderson and Matt Moss scored clean sweeps in their respective Pro classes in the sell-out Stroke Supercross Summer Nationals event, last night (16 Feb).
Racing in front of a capacity crowd, Woodstock Honda Thor Racing star, Anderson was unbeatable in the Pro Open class, fending off a massive charge from team mate Daniel McCoy in the last Final to claim four straight wins throughout the evening’s proceedings.
Team Shift Motul Suzuki rider, Matt Moss grabbed top honours in the Pro Lites class, also taking a clean sweep of four wins from four starts on his way to a thrilling and hard-fought class victory.
The trend of clean sweeps carried throughout the event with Dylan Gosling winning all three Supercross Junior Lites races.
Luke Bond won all three Supercross 85-150cc (14-15yrs) races, while Luke Clout cleaned up in the Supercross 85-150cc (12-13yrs) class.
In the Arenacross Fast 50’s class, Mike Reefman was first to the chequered flag in all four of his races.
The Supercross U19 winner Jarryd McNeil was the only rider to buck the trend, dominating with three wins from four action-packed races.
Featuring an action-packed event line-up including Supercross racing, Freestyle Motocross displays, show-stopping Monster Trucks and a dazzling fireworks finale, the Stroke Supercross Summer Nationals completely sold out, forcing the event promoters to close the gates and turn hundreds of fans away.
Event promoters, Full Throttle Sports are now urging fans to purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment for round two of the Stroke Supercross Summer Nationals at Dubbo Speedway in Dubbo (NSW) on Saturday 1 March.
CRAIG ANDERSON – WOODSTOCK HONDA THOR RACING
“This was a good start to the season. After being sick all week, I wasn’t really expecting to do all that well tonight.
“Everything came together; my starts were pretty well on par, the new Honda was really good, I was pretty happy with the way I rode and everything just went to plan.
“As we get rolling into the season and I get fitter and faster it should be a good year for the Woodstock Honda team.”
SEAN WISNESKE – FULL THROTTLE SPORTS, GENERAL MANAGER
“We are obviously thrilled by the overwhelming response to this Supercross event.
“While no-one likes to turn fans away, we are really pleased to have had such a massive turn-out that the event reached capacity and sold out.
“The on-track action was every bit as exciting as we anticipated, with close, hard and always dramatic Supercross racing, incredible Freestyle displays and the Monster Trucks was a massive crowd-pleaser, as always.
“With the Stroke Supercross Summer Nationals heading to Dubbo on March 1st, we are anticipating another sell-out crowd and definitely don’t want fans to miss out; we strongly encourage people to book their tickets well in advance.”
