Suter Industries have announced that they will be participating in the 2018 Tourist Trophy at the Isle of Man, with 10-time TT Winner Ian Lougher to join the team aboard the MMX500. The race bike is also up for sale, with the 500cc V4 two-stroke boasting 195hp at just 129kg, and priced at $171,148.80 AUD.

This prestigious event requires everything from man and machine, and Lougher will again gather all his skill and knowledge of the mountain course to ride the Suter MMX500 V4 two-stroke in both the Superbike and the Senior TT race, with the aim of showcasing the MMX500’s reliability and effeciency.

Ian Lougher (born 10 July 1963) is a British motorcycle racer, famous for nine motorcycle wins in the North West 200, 10 victories at the Isle of Man TT Races and 32 wins at the Southern 100 Races in his career.

He was born in Cardiff and took his first TT victory in the 1990 Lightweight TT in one of the closest races in TT history, winning by only 1.8 seconds from Steve Hislop. Lougher set a new race record and a lap record that wasn’t beaten for nine years.

Lougher enjoyed a near 30-year TT career between 1984 and 2013 which included ten race wins and a record 126 starts, and the most replicas awarded to a TT rider, before retiring after the 2013 Senior TT.

However, the now 55-year-old continued to race on the TT Mountain Course in the Classic TT. Now Ian Lougher will return to the Isle of Man TT for his secound visit onboard the Suter MMX 500!

I feel that after all the hard work put in by the entire Suter team and myself, it’s very much unfinished business and I can‘t wait to go testing. It‘s two years since our last episode together, and the engineers say that they have managed to squeeze even more power out of the engine and iron out all the niggly problems we encountered in 2016. I’m ready to go down Bray Hill and give the spectators that Two Stroke experience again.‘‘

In a first, Suter are also selling the TT 2018 race bike Lougher will campaign, as is, at the completion of racing at the event. This will include:

The MMX500 Ian Lougher raced at the IoM TT 2018 (including all road rash and bugs).
Handed over in person by the team and rider on sight (perhaps even in Pit lane).
A complete set of Suter 2018 TT Team Wear.
VIP access to all the team and rider paddock, as well as all activities the team is part of.
An allocated spot to one of our very own Suter Race Days, with Eskil leading the way as your personal coach himself!
