Yarrive Konsky to run 2009 Australian Superbike Championship
Motorcycling Australia (MA) would like to announce that they will be entering into negotiations with Frontline Media Group, headed by Yarrive Konsky, for promotion of the 2009 Australian Superbike Championship.
After receiving excellent proposals from James Spence and Matt Mladin, the MRRDA and Frontline Media Group, the MA Board has supported the proposal of Frontline Media Group and has agreed to enter into negotiations with them.
MA’s CEO David White said that it was only after much discussion and industry consultation, that the decision was made.
“Following an exhaustive process it was decided to enter into final negotiations with Frontline Media Group,” White said
“It is anticipated that these negotiations will be concluded prior to the next Board meeting on Tuesday, 16 September, 2008, so that a final agreement and conditions can be decided at that meeting.
“In the coming weeks MA will be consulting with Frontline Media Group and the motorcycling industry to finalise arrangements for the Australian Superbike Championship for 2009 and beyond.”
Frontline Media Group’s Yarrive Konsky said that they are looking forward to 2009.
“We’re very excited about this opportunity, we are a dynamic and diverse young company that believes in the Australian Superbike Championship and equally its elite racers” Konsky said.
“We face many challenges; however we believe in the lively realization that fan/consumer integration is the key to ensuring greater success for the sport, its racers and the industry.
“We are producing world class racers, so the basic “race event” fundamentals will not differ greatly, although we will endeavour to work with the industry, the racers and Motorcycling Australia to lift participation levels and make it as affordable as possible without hindering the performance of the event and each individual class”
“The most important thing is that we believe in the sport, I have been involved in racing as a rider, a promoter, a publisher and coach for 23 years and if I didn’t see a future in what we are proposing I wouldn’t do it.
“Therefore my experienced staff and I welcome the opportunity and thank the industry and Motorcycling Australia for this honour.”
